Greetings from Geneva, NY.

Greetings to you all.
I am originally from Pennsylvania and today I found your site to be very interseting.
We have a store nearby in Seneca Falls, (Sauder's)where we are able to get the good old Pennsylvania Dutch foods, many of which are from Ohio.
The store is owned by Mennonites.
Periodically we go there to purchase Lebanon bologna, pon hoss, and really outstanding ham hocks for making ham pot pie, along with a variety of foods which are not found in the mainstream super markets.
The store is frequented by many of the local Amish and Mennonite folks as well as a lot of transplanted Pennsylvanians such as myself and my brother and sister-in-law. We love the store.
I do most of the cooking at my house, mostly Pennsylvania Dutch and German, and it is wonderful to have access to Sauder's Store.
Its interesting that when I visit in Germany from time to time, the similarity of the food served in Rheinland/Pfalz compared to the local foods where I grew up in Pennsylvania. The place where I lodge in Germany features stuffed sau maw with sauerkraut, green beans with ham and some fantastic kuchens and tortes.
One day I mentioned to the owner, Hans Becker, that it was like being back in my area of Pennsylvania with all of the Scotch/Irish and Germans, and he reminded me that we are all Celts.
My best regards,
Jack Treese (a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan)
