First and foremost I'd like to introduce myself as the new editor for Amish Heartland. Former editor and writer, Jennifer Ditlevson, has decided to continue her education by entering the master's program at Baylor University in Waco, Tx. Ditlevson will be working as a graduate assistant while taking classes to further pursue her career in journalism.

As a recent graduate from Ashland University, I am incredibly eager to come on staff and take the lead for Amish Heartland. With a bachelor's degreein journalism and creative writing this long awaited step into my initial career has been filled with new experiences, memorable moments and unexpected twists.

Along with my new apartment, adult responsibility and learning how to live on a budget, I'm trying to understand a new culture -- a different way of life -- formerly completely separate from my own. Being surrounded by the heartland of Amish country has already proven to be intriguing and eventful.

As I begin to explore and appreciate the lives and communities around me I hope I can develop adequate knowledge of these cultures. My efforts are being made to bring the genuine and insightful stories that Amish Heartland readers are looking for.

With that being said I'm asking all Amish Heartland readers for their help.I want to know what is important to you regarding the Amish Heartland. I want to know what you find intriguing, what you want to know about Amish culture, what you want to share and how the people living these lifestyles have impacted you.

Your anecdotes and curiosities will help me as I begin to understand these cultures myself. Also, I will get a better understanding of what readers of Amish Heartland are interested in.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation.
