Goodwill Motorcycle Event

When: Poker Run starts Noon-2 p.m.

Where: 149 W. Milltown Rd., Wooster

Poker Run will end 3-6 p.m. at WOOSTERFEST in downtown Wooster in front of main Library with live music and food! 116 mile scenic and fun tour of Wayne and Holmes Counties through Amish Country. Route is very well marked and planned.

$20/hand or $30/couple/2 hands and includes commemorative event pin. This event will recognize all military veteran riders with a token of appreciation for their service to our Country.

Prairie Peddler Arts & Crafts Festival

When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Where: SR 97, 12 miles east of I-71 between Butler and Mohican State Park

2010 marks the 23rd annual arts and crafts festival for Prairie Peddler in Butler. Shop at more than 180 craft Boutiques featuring quality handmade collectibles crafted by some of the country's finest craftsmen. Enjoy continuous LIVE entertainment at several stages located throughout the festival. The Kid Zone offers hands-on projects, entertainment and lots of fun for kids of all ages. Bring the family and enjoy a Horsedrawn Wagon Ride through the beautiful woods. Enjoy a wide variety of homecooked foods prepared over open fires. Get in touch with your creative side with hands-on workshops.

The Giving Doll Project

When: 5-7 p.m.

Where: 220 N. Main St., Orrville

The Giving Doll is a totally volunteer project that gives faith, love, joy, hope and comfort to children at times of special need through the construction and distribution of handmade cloth dolls. Over 6,600 children are receiving comfort from these dolls since the program was started in 2006. Sewers and non-sewers of all ages are needed to help make dolls for children locally and worldwide. Plan to attend this informational meeting to see how you can get involved.

Bowls,Bowls & More Bowls

When: 1-3 p.m.

Where: 237 S. Walnut St., Wooster

Adult. Members $72 and Nonmembers $92. (4 weeks)

In this class, bowls of all shapes, sizes and colors will be created. Decorating techniques including sgraffito, banding, combing, underglazing, slip decorating and glaze application will be taught. Costs include 30 lbs of clay, a $37.50 value.

Birding the Killbuck Wildlife

TWC's Bird Club will guide you through the Killbuck Wildlife area and help improve your birding skills. Meet at the Bob Evans at Rt. 30 and Madison Ave. in Wooster for breakfast at 7:30 we'll carpool to the marsh about 8 a.m. Dress for the weather. Limited to 20. $10. Pre-registration required. Adult.

Embracing Our Differences Ohio

When: 5-9 p.m.; Noon-9 p.m.

Where: 4243 Columbus Rd. Rt. 3 South, Wooster

This 2010 exhibit will be at The Harvest Dinner at Troutman art exhibit featuring primarily creations from local school children. The mission of this display is to demonstrate in a positive way that diversity enriches our lives, that respect for differences in our thoughts and beliefs elevates the human experience and that the active rejection of prejudice and hatred enhances our own freedoms. Enchanted Forest

When: 6:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.

Where: The Wilderness Center, Wilmot

The Enchanted Forest is a fun, educational experience for children 4 to 10 years old. (They should bring their parents and grandparents along, too). Visitors are escorted around the trail by volunteer leaders called Fireflies, who light the way with lanterns. Along the trail, you stop for brief programs by the creatures inhabiting the Enchanted Forest. The walk takes about one hour. After the walk, refreshments are served in the building. The fee is $6/member; $8/nonmember; free for children 3 and under. Children and adults are encouraged to wear costumes. Pre-registration is required by cash, check, or credit card. Geology: Ohio Mining & Minerals

Where: 200 N. Main St., Orrville

This talk will provide a history of mining and mineral industries within the state of Ohio. There will be hands-on experiments with supplemental materials, such as mineral specimens and geological and glacial maps, which contributed immensely to Ohio's economy. At the end, there will be time for discussion and questions.

Autumn Geofest III 2010

The Geocaching Club's third annual fall event will be held on Sat., Oct. 16, 2010, here at the Center. It will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Registration will be from 8-1. The club will be placing over 100 temporary caches for the day. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and?the raffle of a Garmin 60csx gps unit. Refreshments will be available for a donation. Be ready to share your own anecdotes, or to just listen to funny tales of international travel. Experienced traveler Suzanne Jelinek has been to over 10 different countries and plans to keep at it.
