What are you thankful for?

With November comes the time for Thanksgiving and as everyone knows Thanksgiving is not just about the turkey and stuffing.

Thanksgiving is marked as a time for "giving thanks," something I would dare to say none of us does enough of.

In some families it becomes a tradition, before the turkey is passed around the table each member announces at least one thing that they are thankful for.

Now don't get me wrong, I myself am very thankful for the turkey. And the stuffing...and the mashed potatoes that follow.

But menu aside, there are hundreds of things (and people) that I don't acknowledge nearly as much as I should.

It seems more often than not we can find ourselves complaining about what isn't going right for us instead of appreciating the many wonderful things that are.

It's in this season in particular, when the days get shorter and the weather starts to change, that people really start noticing their blessings in life.

The slow remedy of comfort sinks in as we scurry around our busy schedules and family gatherings.

As the turkey holiday approaches I ask everyone to take some time and remember the people and the gifts that you have been blessed with.
