Finding the right hotel for a vacation can be a difficult task. Each individual is going to have their own tastes and preferences, let alone their own necessities.

For those travelers who are seeking a quaint, secure and convenient location for all of their traveling and exploring in the Berlin area then Berlin Village Inn might be the right place for them.

"We're located right off the road," said Deanna Rausch, business manager of Berlin Village Inn.

"It's just a quick drive to the nearby areas and everything that's around Berlin."

With a primary clientel of seniors, the inn sees the majority of its visitors in October and the surrounding fall months.

"We're full every night in October," Rausch said.

"It's the change of the leaves and the steady events around town that keep people wanting to visit."

Most of Rausch's customers are annual visitors, allowing herself and her staff to become well acquainted with each resident.

"We have our base clients that come year after year as well as those that come a couple of times a year," Rausch said.

"It's a wonderful chance to interact with our guests.

"They are our livelihood and we do enjoy talking to them. It provides a very family-like atmosphere."

From the outside, Berlin Village Inn does not appear to offer all of the possible amenities that some hotels can provide. In truth, Rausch and her staff really see no need for them.

"We don't get a lot of kids so there's no need for us to have such amenities like a pool. We don't have the land for it nor would our lot accomadate well," Rausch said.

Berlin Village Inn rests on a hill on the edge of town with an overview of the landscape beneath.

Rausch became the business manager when the owners, friends and churchgoers of hers, asked if she would be interested in it.

Although she had no previous hotel management experience, her friendly disposition and inviting smile made her a great candidate.

"There's a lot of stress involved," Rausch said.

"But overall it's worth it. The guests make it worth it. In the five and a half years I've been hear I've really never not wanted to go to work in the morning."

Over those five and a half years Rausch believes that the Inn's biggest success has been through its remodeling.

"I'm proud that we've been able to get the rooms updated while keeping the rates the same," Rausch said.

"Not everyone wants or needs to spend a lot of money when they travel, especially when it comes to just having a place to sleep while you're here. It's great that we've been able to make these changes and not impact the customer."

Through Rausch's managing style, she believes about leading her staff by example.

From the time the customer checks in, the staff at Berlin Village Inn strives to make their stay comfortable and inviting.

"I even tell my housekeepers that guests see your face and they want to interact with you," Rausch said.

"It has been proven over and over again that it will come back to you."

Berlin Village Inn is located on State Route 39 just inside Berlin.

The Inn is also conveniently minutes from Mt. Hope, Sugarcreek, Charm, Walnut Creek, Millersburg, Kidron and downtown Berlin.

Berlin Village Inn offers a frequent stay program for those travelers who have a desire to visit often.
